Attendance and Punctuality
Attendance
Classroom doors open at 8.50am, registration is taken at 9am. Please ensure your child is in school and ready to learn by the time the register is taken. If you arrive after 9am, you will need to enter via the school office and sign the late book.
If your child is unable to attend school for any reason, please inform school on each day of absence before 9.00am. Please leave a message on our absence line containing your child's name, class and reason for the absence. All unexplained absences are recorded as unauthorised. Attendance is monitored by our school Attendance Officer and Education Welfare Officer.
Attendance is monitored weekly within school and communication will be sent to parents and carers should your child's attendance fall below 95%. We will arrange regular attendance meetings with parents and carers if your child is persistantly absent from school.
Family holidays should not be arranged during term time; please refer to the terms dates on our school website. In exceptional circumstances a Leave of Absence Request Form must be completed. These forms are available from the school office, or from our website. Requests are considered using the guidelines provided by the Education Welfare Service and you will be informed of the decision. Please be aware that an unauthorised holiday absence may be liable for a fixed penalty notice.
Mrs Kolodziejski, supported by the office and Mrs Ward, monitors school attendance. Mrs Kolodziejski works on a Tuesday and Thursday 8am - 6pm. If you wish to contact her regarding any issues or concerns with attendance and punctuality then please contact her on: 01244 445266.
